About Us

Hello,

My name is Cathy Smith and I live at Cedar Winds farm with my husband, Robb, my daughter Caileigh Jane (Janie), and my son Richmond. Living with us at Cedarwinds are four Collies, one horse, several Jersey cows, and numerous chickens and guineas. I have always loved and admired the beauty and intelligence of Collies, but it was not until 8 years ago that the first collie came into our lives.

Royal was our first full-blooded Collie. As a four month old puppy, we were astounded at his obedience. We did not have to housebreak him. If we said "no" to him , he would listen and obey. He loved children. He was good with our farm animals. Although he was happy-go-lucky and would play, when he came inside, he would lay down and and be calm. We all adored him.

A few months after Royal came, we purchased a female Collie. She proved to be as delightful as Royal was. We have added several Collies to our home since then. Each one of them has his/her own individual personality, but they all have been intelligent, obedient, loyal and wonderful with children.

We have never tried to "train" our Collies in a strict sense. They learn our habits by living with us and they desire to obey. My daughter, Janie, has such fun working with our Collies, she especially loved her Katie Sue. Katie Sue delighted in jumping through hoops, sitting, laying, staying, and in short doing whatever Caileigh Jane desired. We lost Katie Sue this past December, and she is sorely missed at our home. She was such a part of our family.

Because we have enjoyed our Collies so much, we made the decision a while back to begin raising Collie puppies. It has been a very pleasant endeavor. While selling our puppies, we have met many wonderful people. Some have written to us to tell how much they are enjoying their Collies. Many who come to us for puppies have owned a Collie in the past and will consider no other dog. Others are looking for the perfect family dog. It has been a pleasure to put our puppies into loving homes where they can bring companionship and delight to their masters.
